I needed to do something quick, simple and inexpensive, but festive. I also wanted to actually make/bake something I had pinned. That's what it's there for, right?? Seriously, what did we do before all this goodness was available at our fingertips!
A few pics to share. And please remember, I am NOT a photographer, ok?
At our house, when it's your special day, you must wear the headband and eat from the plate! You reign supreme for the day, and all food choices are yours all day long. She obviously loves a carb, even if only in theroy. She ate about two bites total.
My big girl stayed up late with me to prep the dining room with surprise ballons. Balloons, ribbon and a little bit of fabric...that was all I used. The Divne Twine was left over from The Mister's party last summer.
Balloon Garland - brilliant idea, no?
And this adorable cake...easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Was going to make dinner from Pinterest recipes as well, but I decided to stick with what I knew - Chicken Enchilada Casserole, yellow rice from a box (fancy), and my version of Mexican Green Salad (lettuce, tomatoes, rinsed black beans, drained shoepeg corn, diced avocado and Ranch dressing).
All in all, she had a fun night and I was quite thrilled with how cute the decorations turned out. Almost as cute as if I had agonized over every single last detail for months, like I would typically do for a party (ahem, note to self!).
And many thanks to our sweet friends, the Masons, who came to join the party after sleeing in a tent the night before. I love NOT camping!
